Group Marketing

The marketing committee meets twice a year to exchange successful ideas and share best practice in multi-channel marketing, increasingly with a focus on emerging digital content to ensure we reach the widest range of customers and drive footfall to our member centres’.

The group remains committed to its three highly successful magazine publications, Beautiful Gardens, Beautiful Summer and Beautiful Christmas. Collectively, these three issues amount to around 10 million copies, estimated to reach over 40% of the UK’s gardening households. Each member has its own unique front cover and some personalised content, and a range of great bespoke offers. Category and product content is common across the group giving customers access to the best insights and the best products. 

The marketing committee works alongside the Beautiful Gardens editorial committee to create the generic magazine content. More recently we have developed digital versions of editorial stories to enable customers to access information via their mobile devices and laptops thus reaching an even wider audience. 

Beautiful Gardens

With a circulation of more than 4 million, Beautiful Gardens is the UK’s most-read gardening magazine – but is far from mass market in its approach. Customers regard it as an annual treat that is truly local due to the inclusion of regional pages for each of the Tillington Group’s ten garden centres and bespoke branded covers. Published in spring, Beautiful Gardens is packed with inspiring, helpful content and signals the start of the gardening season.

Beautiful Christmas

Across the UK, a visit to the local Tillington Group garden centre has become a much-anticipated Christmas tradition. Beautiful Christmas magazine . It heralds the start of the festive trading season with 36 pages that showcase must-have products, gifts and ideas to capture the imagination of around 2.8 million households. Over the years, Beautiful Christmas has proved its ability to bring the festive selling period forward, driving customers in store and increasing demand and sales for featured items.

Beautiful Summer

Beautiful Summer is door-dropped in May, and follows up the spring edition of Beautiful Gardens magazine. Designed to help extend the gardening season, it drives customers in store with content covering outdoor living (furniture, barbecues etc), plants and garden care. Targeted to over 2.5 million UK households, the magazine offers inspirational pages packed with must-have products and ideas to help readers get the most from the summer months.
